Well, this is awkward.
I just remembered I created this blog for one reason or another some date or time ago. Unfortunately, I won't be able to recall any of this information because I cannot see my (one) other post as I write this. In fact, I'm not even familiar with the tools here, so please forgive my ineptitude. It's all very ugly too, all white, gray and orange.
Whatever the original reason for starting this blog, I saw the television set on the very unappealing wallpaper on this page and I thought I would now focus it on movies. Last time I checked, I was pretty sure the world didn't need another amateur movie critic who puts his very unimportant thoughts no one would see in the massive void of cyberspace. Then I figured since no one is going to see it anyway, I probably won't do any harm. Besides, despite what some people may think, I have always loved movies, and I still do.
Now most movie reviewers on the interwebs seem to have a niche of some sort. James Rolfe (http://cinemassacre.com/) likes to review horror and sci-fi films, while Doug Walker, as the Nostalgia Critic (http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/) does his thing with older movies that are just terrible. I don't really have any of those comedic ambitions (and I won't do video), but I figure it would be interesting to strictly look at the movies I own.
My collection is sitting somewhere over 500 DVDs and Blu-rays, so there is a lot to go through. I tend to cycle through them in my boredom quite regularly, the good and bad, so I think
it would be interesting to actually write down my thoughts somewhere. Who knows, maybe I'll learn something about myself along the way, but I think that just sounds stupid.
I own a variety of movies, from blockbusters to indie, from foreign to far-out. My only thing is, I don't have many horror films, as they tend to mess with my zen. I do have my reservations on the genre, but we'll get to that later... that is, if I actually follow up with this blog.
I'll do my best.
*Ok, so I read no reason for starting the blog on the other post. Awesome.
